Akashi, designed by Ed Merritt, is a free futuristic geometric display font built from broad, squared strokes and tight internal spaces. Rounded corners soften its otherwise mechanical letterforms.
Its industrial geometry suits electronic music posters and game interfaces, where the lettering can echo machinery, circuitry, or modular screen graphics. That same compact, engineered silhouette also gives technology branding and product packaging a convincing logo-like stamp, though posters remain its strongest setting.
