Beka, designed by Slava Meskhi of PH GCI, is a free blackletter font shaped by the dark sweep and pointed construction of medieval manuscript lettering and carved Gothic inscriptions. Hooked strokes and blade-like points sharpen its broad calligraphic curves.
A metal album cover and a historical festival poster occupy very different worlds, yet its dense, angular forms bring both a convincing mix of drama, ceremony, history, and menace. Fantasy game packaging, tattoo studio branding, and themed merchandise also suit the lettering because the large, recurring hooks and sweeping curves can function as ornament, linking these uses through a shared heraldic and theatrical character.
