Poitou by Scott Layne of FSI FontShop International GmbH is a free distorted display font built from elegant serif letterforms sliced into dense horizontal bands. The repeated gaps give every stroke a precise, flickering scan-line texture, yet the underlying shapes retain a formal bearing. Long verticals and fine curves make the pattern feel taut rather than rough.
Its striped interruption echoes television interference and engraved shading, making it apt for electronic-music posters, experimental publishing, and fashion campaign graphics. On packaging, the bands can merge with ruled or halftone artwork.
