Wide Latin, credited to Stephenson Blake with 1992 font data by URW, is a free broad display serif with emphatic wedge-like feet. Its extremely expanded capitals press thick verticals against sharp triangular details and narrow interior gaps. The silhouette is unmistakably theatrical.
Circus, rodeo, and old show-poster themes are the clearest match for its oversized proportions. It can also lend packaging and music merchandise the blunt spectacle of vintage advertising.
