Argosy Italic, created by Iconian Fonts in 2002, is a free distorted display font built from sharply cut, irregular letterforms with uneven widths and sudden directional changes. Its caps look assembled from slanted shards and open polygonal shapes.

Posters and music packaging make especially good use of this fractured construction, which turns titles into rough, angular, hand-cut graphics rather than conventional lettering or smooth, polished geometric forms.
