Junius, designed by Peter S. Baker, is a free old-style serif with calligraphic stroke contrast and a distinctly historical cast. Broad, softly modeled curves meet fine hairlines, and gently irregular details recall letters shaped by a broad pen and early movable type.
It lends scholarly authority to book covers and museum publications, yet its handsome, expansive forms also suit heritage packaging, formal event invitations, and exhibition graphics. In those settings, the lettering can become part of a convincing period emblem.
