Serifonwide Italic

Serifonwide Italic, designed by Dieter Schumacher, is a free italic serif display font with a sharp, late-20th-century poster attitude. The letters lean hard and stretch wide, mixing sweeping curves with clipped, blade-like serifs that give the font a fast, theatrical rhythm rather than a bookish one.

It fits best where a headline needs motion and flair - on magazine covers, film title cards, packaging, music promos, and big editorial pull quotes. As a free font, it makes particular sense for short branding lines, dramatic drop-ins, and logo-style wordmarks, because those slanted, overshooting details do most of their work when the letters have room to show off.
